Role Summary
BharatCares is looking for an Associate Manager – Women & Livelihood Programs to lead and support the implementation of women-centric livelihood and enterprise development initiatives in Bhubaneswar and surrounding geographies.
The role will focus on developing and managing livelihood interventions, particularly across textile, handicraft, apparel, and related livelihood value chains, with an emphasis on women’s economic empowerment, skill development, market linkages, enterprise development, and sustainable income generation.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in livelihood programs or textile value chains, along with strong capabilities in field implementation, stakeholder management, community engagement, and program monitoring.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Program Implementation & Management
- Lead the planning and implementation of women and livelihood-focused programs across identified project locations.
- Develop implementation plans, timelines, milestones, and activity calendars in alignment with project objectives.
- Ensure timely execution of project activities while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
- Coordinate with field teams and implementing partners for smooth program delivery.
- Identify operational challenges and develop practical solutions for effective implementation.
2. Women Livelihood & Enterprise Development
- Design and implement interventions focused on women’s economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.
- Support women beneficiaries in developing individual and group-based enterprises.
- Facilitate formation and strengthening of SHGs, producer groups, collectives, and community-based institutions.
- Identify opportunities for income enhancement, entrepreneurship, and employment generation for women.
- Support beneficiaries in improving productivity, quality, business practices, and income generation.
3. Textile & Livelihood Value Chain
- Work closely with stakeholders across the textile/apparel/handicraft value chain, including producers, artisans, SHGs, suppliers, buyers, and market players.
- Understand existing gaps across production, sourcing, quality, packaging, branding, and market access.
- Identify opportunities for strengthening textile-based livelihoods and creating sustainable market linkages.
- Support women-led enterprises and producer groups in connecting with relevant markets and buyers.
- Facilitate exposure visits, buyer-seller meets, industry interactions, and other market-oriented initiatives where required.
4. Skill Development & Capacity Building
- Identify skill and capacity-building requirements of women beneficiaries.
- Coordinate with trainers, subject-matter experts, government agencies, industry partners, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and facilitate training programs related to technical skills, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, business management, and employability.
- Monitor training quality, participation, completion, and post-training outcomes.
- Support transition of trained beneficiaries into employment, self-employment, or enterprise opportunities.
5. Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish strong relationships with community members, SHGs, local institutions, NGOs, government departments, and other ecosystem stakeholders.
- Conduct community consultations and field visits to understand beneficiary needs and program requirements.
- Coordinate with local government and relevant departments for convergence and program support.
- Represent BharatCares in relevant meetings, workshops, consultations, and stakeholder forums.
6. Market Linkages & Partnerships
- Identify potential market opportunities and corporate/industry partnerships for livelihood initiatives.
- Develop linkages with textile companies, apparel brands, buyers, aggregators, retailers, and other relevant market actors.
- Explore opportunities for procurement, production orders, employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable market access.
- Support partnership development with organizations that can strengthen women-led livelihood ecosystems.
7. Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
- Track program progress against defined targets, milestones, and outcome indicators.
- Maintain beneficiary databases, program records, case studies, and other project documentation.
- Prepare regular MIS, dashboards, progress reports, and donor/client reports.
- Monitor key indicators such as beneficiary outreach, training completion, employment/self-employment, enterprise creation, income enhancement, and market linkages.
- Document success stories, impact stories, learnings, and best practices from the field.
8. Team & Partner Coordination
- Coordinate with internal project teams and implementing partners for effective program execution.
- Provide regular guidance and support to field-level teams.
- Conduct periodic field reviews and implementation assessments.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, project guidelines, and donor requirements.

Eligibility & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in livelihood development, women empowerment, textile, apparel, handicraft, rural enterprise development, or related sectors.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in textile value chains, women-led enterprises, SHGs, producer groups, or livelihood programs will be preferred.
- Experience working with NGOs, CSR programs, development organizations, social enterprises, or community-based organizations will be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of livelihood ecosystems and market linkage models.
- Willingness to undertake regular field travel within Odisha and project locations.
- Proficiency in MS Office/Google Workspace, particularly Excel/Sheets and PowerPoint/Presentations.
